Top 5 Blogs I Love

A good chunk of my day is dedicated to checking in to some of my favorite blogs.  I would like to share those blogs with you so when you are sitting at your desk at work trying to look busy you have something interesting to look at (:

This blog started in June 2008 and updates every weekday, counting life's little joys. This blog records many things we probably already think of but never think to write down; nostalgia, sarcasm, and appreciation for the way we already live.

#992 Being the first table to get called up for the dinner buffet at a wedding

#876 Taking your bra off after wearing it for hours
#681 Realizing you are going to be in the background of someone else's picture and smiling at the last second

Each entry has a picture and sometimes a pretty amusing description of why these Awesome Things are so awesome.

Love this fashion site.  She's got a wicked sense of humor and an eye for design. This girl is anti-boring/simple/plain/chic/classy and is all about mixing fabrics and layers and accessories and doing fashion in a big, unique, bohemian, fun way. Sometimes in ways that men just don't get, thus ManRepeller.

The explanation on her site defines it better than I could:
Man Repeller [mahn-ree-peller]
-noun
outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex.  Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry, and clogs.
-verb (used without object), -pelling, -pelled.
to commit the act of repelling men:
Girl 1: What are you wearing to that party?
Girl2: My sweet lime green drop crotch utility pants!
Girl 1: Oh, so we're manrepelling tonight!

She often takes a pretty and simple piece and adds and piles and layers until it turns into a fashion masterpiece...I realize that most of you will not call this a masterpiece.  That's kind of the point I guess.
PostSecret

You should have heard about PostSecret by now, if you haven't you are missing out an amazing. People mail anonymous, homemade postcards revealing a secret that no one knows.  It was started in 2005 by Frank Warren as an experimental community art project on BlogSpot.  The site is updated with new secrets every Sunday and there are books and museum exhibitions as well.

Poo Pies
This shiz is HILARIOUS!  This blog is little stories and anecdotes written by a girl who is inappropriate, quirky, and ballsy.

"It was so hot today; the albinos were sweating as much as those wrestlers that wear parkas while on the cardio machines the gym. See, I was creative enough to not use any racial comparisons. Which, by the way, something referred to as a 'racial simile' does not sound as crass or off-putting as a 'racial slur'. Also, a usable term and possibly inappropriate, but manages to warm my heart, 'racial slurpee'."

Savvy Housekeeping
This is definitely one of my favorite sources for decorating and cooking inspiration.  Throughout the blog you will find amazing recipes (of the food and cocktail variety), do-it-yourself home projects, and decorating ideas; everything from how to refresh stale tortillas to how to build an outdoor movie theater.
