Blurbles 9-13-2011

Some things that crossed my mind today…  How weird Republicans are.  How mean Republicans are.  Leopard print, fur, and soft things I want to wrap myself in.  If I could be anywhere but here I would be outside sleeping.
Read on, my friends, if you care for my elaborations.
1. The Presidential election is more than a year away.  A year!  A whole year of all this bullshit with campaigning and debates and stupid Republicans who scare the shit out of me.  Also, I feel bad for Obama, like he’s being mean-girled. Like all the cool Republican kids are disagreeing with all of his ideas because they don’t want the rest of the kids to like him.  Also, I never understand the Republican demographic, and I know I am generalizing, but when I think of Republicans I think of two types of people: Conservative, proper, CEOS, wealthy, uptight “Christians” and hick, uneducated, gun-loving, hunting rednecks.  I don’t get this.  I am trying to find a common thread…naivety, judginess, and ignorance? Too harsh or too easy?

 +  = Republican?

I found this site, meangirlsinthewhitehouse.tumblr.com ,when looking for pictures for this blog, apparently other people feel the same way about the Mean Girls/Politics connection.  Hilarious.

2.  I can’t stop online shopping for sweaters and coats.  New York is giving me a reason, for the first time in my life, to have an actual winter wardrobe.  I am so obsessed with leopard and fur and oversized sweaters for winter.  And apart from the fact that I am going to be depressed and hibernating under my new down comforter, I am kind of looking forward to rocking my scarves and oversized, comfy sweaters.

 3. This is a complete turnaround from my winter frame of mind, but this beautiful weather has me wanting to spend some time outdoors.  Does this not look like the most relaxing, amazing thing ever?  And so easy too…all you need is two trees, some cushions, some pretty sheer fabric, and a rope/branch.  Done.  Someday I will have a backyard and this will be my nap spot.
