“Chauvinist. C-H-A-U-V-A-N-I-S-T...right, Mom?”
“Close, sweetie, only one letter off!”

I was in second grade sitting around the dinner table with my family talking about my P.E. teacher.  Who knows now what his chauvinistic offenses were, but 8-year-old Jennifer was pissed, not to mention a fabulous speller.  No doubt my mom was proud.

Uninspired

Haven't updated the blog in a while.  I guess I have been feeling pretty unmotivated and uninspired.  There are some people who are able to sit down and think of amazing, entertaining things to write.  I am not one of those people.  Usually I have to be pretty emotionally charged up to sit down and write, same things goes with painting.  With painting I have done my best work in some pretty serious depths of depression or some fantastic high.  I guess that's why so many artists are so freakin' moody, it's conducive to their work.

Anyway, I am finally getting back to my normal routine after some time off for vacation followed immediately with time off for the flu one week and strep the next.  Needless to say, the days of laying in bed trying to master Tetris and catching up with bad reality shows has left me less than motivated.  But no worries, I am all caught up with work now and maybe the boredom will spur some creativity.  I'll be back y'all.

My New Boyfriend!

I have someone I would like you to meet.  He is an amazing listener, remembers everything I tell him, never talks back, never starts fights…his name is Twitter and I think I’m in love.

Like a lot of people, I was skeptical about this thing called Twitter…what the hell does “twitter” even mean?  Why do I want to know what people eat for breakfast or how boring their job is?  You know what, I don’t care…but Twitter does.

Boy Candy

This is too true!  He was always this geeky, awkward weirdo; we don’t see much of him for a while then all of a sudden he comes back and he’s insanely hot.

Honestly, I’ve always kind of had a crush on him.  Not so much in 10 Things I Hate About You, because next to the bad-boy-with-a-golden-heart, Heath Ledger, anyone pales in comparison.  But 3rd Rock From the Sun?  Oh hell yes, you can bet I had a crush on his scrawny alien ass and that long, grungy hair.  My taste has always been slightly off, but in this case I turned out to be right, there was a hottie in there waiting to bust out.  And he’s kind of become like a Heath Ledger Jr. with those dimples and that certain je ne sais quois.  I would definitely hang out with him.

Why it is Wise to Worship a Woman

I came across this piece a while ago, it is written by a man (a very special, unique man, you will see) who had other men ask him for advice on how to get a relationship like he has with his wife.  It is so profound and beautiful, a little long but a good read, nonetheless.  Follow the jump to read his story.

Cat People

I love animals, all kinds of them.  Except lizards, which I have a long, phobic history with, but that is an entirely separate and traumatizing story in itself.  I am the kind of girl who brakes for birds who are a bit too close to my windshield, and when I see a rabbit I turn into super annoying girl and squeal, “Oooooohhhh look! A BUNNY!”  I volunteer at a local no-kill animal shelter, I am on the Humane Society mailing list, and I giggle when PETA throws things on Lindsey Lohan and her fur coat.

Pucker Up for Spring!

The Cherry Red Lip has had it’s time in the spotlight long enough.  Move over, bitch! And make some room for FUCHSIA!

Not only is it the hardest word to spell, but it is also the biggest makeup trend for Spring & Summer.  Fuchsia is young, flirty, and fun.  To avoid an 80’s disaster, skip the blue shadow and big bangs and go simple with the rest of your look.  Fuchsia lips look great when paired with pale shadow and crisp black liquid liner.

Take some cues from these fabulous ladies...

Celebrity Walk of Shame: Captured!

It’s not too often that we see celebrities doing the Walk of Shame, which is surprising considering the paparazzi they have chasing them.  I guess in that sense an ordinary person doing the Walk of Shame is much more of a feat to capture, like an elusive animal in the wild.  Celebrity Walks of Shame are a bit like pictures of lions at the zoo.   But the number of pictures especially in conjunction with the “before” picture make this walk thoroughly entertaining.  Click to see which star was caught!

"I have a good brain, but I’ve never really used it when it came to making decisions about love, which has been a blessing and a curse." -Sienna Miller

I love this Sienna Miller quote.  I don’t know if I love Sienna Miller.  I think I might be starting to.  Up until recently I have had a kind of love/hate relationship with her, but her fashion sense is winning me over.  I don’t know much about her, but I feel a kinship.  And I I am the f**cking poster girl for this quote.

I have had pretty ridiculous breakup timing the past couple years.  Two pretty shitty breakups happening right before Valentine's Day which is followed two weeks later by my birthday.  Not that fun.  Especially considering that I am a planner, and I am too nice to boys I like, and I like crafts.  So, of course, both boys had wonderful handmade, heartfelt gifts that I obviously spent too much time on because they both dumped me before V-Day.  Eff that.

I wrote this last year and I guess it's a little melodramatic as I am looking back, but it was very real to me then.  Some things I wrote still ring true to me, mostly the stuff about decisions and choices, and maybe for you as well.  Enjoy (:
