Pictures are a big part of my family. My dad loves photography and at any family event, big or small, he is there with his camera. Eventually, as I started loving photography too, he would hand me the camera and unwittingly I became the unofficial family photographer; a terrible thing for an attention-loving youngest child as I was no longer in any of the photos. My sisters would probably say it evens out since my whole childhood was documented extensively.

Full Disclosure
Working at a hospital, I know the importance of patient confidentiality. We take great care to ensure that your medical records and information is kept secure and shared only with employees involved in your direct care. In the waiting room I notice that some parents are sharers, they like to tell anyone who will listen all about theirs and their children’s medical issues. Sometimes it is really great to see them bond with the other parents, unless they are obnoxious over sharers talking about their child’s poop. Other parents are more private and hesitant to open up about their medical situations and reasonably so.

Once you go Pisces...
“I don't believe in astrology; I'm a Sagittarius and we're skeptical” -Arthur C. Clarke
If I had to describe myself in one word it would be “Pisces”. I fit the profile so completely, it baffles me. I am the Pisces Poster Girl.

HappyFat
In movies and television a girl will get dumped and in the next scene you see her in her pajamas, spoon in hand, pint of chocolate ice cream in her lap, snotty tissues everywhere. I thought this was the normal reaction for getting dumped. Sowhen I went through my first breakup I remember heading straight for the freezer and digging right into the container. This was an emergency, no time for scooping it in a dish first. I took a few frantic bites through the tears, paused, and then dramatically threw it back in the freezer unbelievably irritated that it didn’t magically fix my broken heart. I thought it was supposed to be the cure, or help soothe me a little, but nothing…just a nauseated, empty, heavy feeling at the bottom of my belly. When I am upset, sad, stressed, the last thing I want to do is eat. I have talked to a lot of girlfriends and they agree, when we are depressed, food is nowhere on the agenda. It’s not a conscious decision, you just are not hungry and you don’t have the energy to pig out. Tuesday, July 26, 2011
Jealousy Schmealousy
Jealousy. Boo. We all hate it, yeah? No one likes to feel jealous and no one likes to have a jealous significant other. Regrettably, I have been given the jealousy gene. I believe that too. I believe it is just in some people, like a mean little twin that never developed and is now only a bump in your back with teeth and everything. Of course, jealousy is a byproduct of insecurity, but I think it can also be caused by a crazy vivid imagination, not unlike my own. I have a real talent for imagining the worst possible scenarios. I should probably write horror movies or really sad, depressing indie films. I have always had this dark imagination gnawing at me, and not just with boys, with everything. That is how I managed to stay out of trouble as a kid and teen. I would think of the worst possible consequences and was sure that they would happen to me if I tested it.

Why it is Wise to Worship a Woman
I came across this piece a while ago, it is written by a man (a very special, unique man, you will see) who had other men ask him for advice on how to get a relationship like he has with his wife. It is so profound and beautiful, a little long but a good read, nonetheless. Follow the jump to read his story.

Cat People
I love animals, all kinds of them. Except lizards, which I have a long, phobic history with, but that is an entirely separate and traumatizing story in itself. I am the kind of girl who brakes for birds who are a bit too close to my windshield, and when I see a rabbit I turn into super annoying girl and squeal, “Oooooohhhh look! A BUNNY!” I volunteer at a local no-kill animal shelter, I am on the Humane Society mailing list, and I giggle when PETA throws things on Lindsey Lohan and her fur coat.

Celebrity Walk of Shame: Captured!
It’s not too often that we see celebrities doing the Walk of Shame, which is surprising considering the paparazzi they have chasing them. I guess in that sense an ordinary person doing the Walk of Shame is much more of a feat to capture, like an elusive animal in the wild. Celebrity Walks of Shame are a bit like pictures of lions at the zoo. But the number of pictures especially in conjunction with the “before” picture make this walk thoroughly entertaining. Walk of Shame: Captured!
I thought it might be necessary to provide an official definition for "Walk of Shame" so I consulted some very trusty resources, behold:
Wikipedia-
The walk of shame refers to where a person must walk past strangers or peers alone for an embarrassing reason before reaching a place of privacy. Most commonly, it occurs the morning after a night out at a bar, dance club, or party.
UrbanDictionary-
1. The walk across campus in the same clothes as yesterday after you slept with someone and spent the night in their dorm room
2. The course walked home after a night of boozing and f**king. One usually wears either the clothes they went out in (eg. short skirt and heels) or the clothing of the person they slept with (eg. a large white t-shirt) the morning after and everyone notices they have the "I was f**ked up last night" look and am now walking home from the guy-I-f**ked's house.
I love UrbanDictionary. But this needs no words...
Classic. Man, I sure am loving the combination of the heels and the gym shorts that she most likely stole from a pile on some guy's floor. But, what takes this Walk of Shame to the next level is definitely the snow.
That. Blows.
Maybe the stilletos help with the traction? Like little ice picks?
